La Voce Choir was founded in April 2006 by some 30 teenage choristers, who were driven by their love of choral music to set up the new choir. Coached and conducted by Mr. Lim Hock Siong and Madam Tang Hui Kung, La Voce Choir brings together the vast, collective experience of its members who previously sung with well-known and award-winning choirs such as the Kuala Lumpur Chong Hwa Independent High School (which won the National High School Competition in the year 2006), Klang Hokkien Association Choir (which was awarded a Gold Diploma and a Silver Diploma as well as silver medal at the Fourth World Choir Games 2006 in Xiamen, China) and students of both conductors. The choir has a wide repertoire of traditional, folk, classical as well as modern arrangements and this versatile choir can also perform in a variety of languages. In December 2006, La Voce Choir was invited to join a performance at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac), entitled “Candlelight Christmas”. It was La Voce’s first collaboration with an orchestra – The KLPac Sinfonietta to perform in a concert. KLPac had sponsored the venue for La Voce Choir to have their first concert namely “The Premiere Voices” in May 2007. With the experience of singing Christmas carols, La Voce Choir had recorded “A Christmas Tale” album in November 2007. In the same year in December, La Voce Choir had also tried out a dinner concert, presenting our audience a sumptuous full-coursed Christmas dinner together with our delightful Christmas carols. Besides that, La Voce Choir has been actively performing Christmas carols in shopping mall and hotels since the year 2006 around the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor area. In February 2009, La Voce Choir collaborated with Kuala Lumpur Chong Hwa Independent High School Choir and Tarrega Teenagers and Children Choir to have a night of wonderful music, entitled “Beautiful Tones – East and West”. The concert featured works of two well-known composers; John Rutter and Lu Zai Yi. For a newly-formed choir, La Voce is already aiming high as they intend to take their singing and performance to a professional level. La Voce’s popularity quickly rose and sparked an increase in performances in the year 2010 that included the “Echoes of the Klang River” that commenced in two states – Seremban in the month of May and Malacca in the month of June followed by an invitation to perform for Pin Hwa High School in July. In the same year, La Voce participated in one of the most prestigious choral events of the year, The 6th World Choir Games held in Shaoxing, China and went on to win a Gold Diploma Level IV in the Folklore category. In the year 2011, La Voce held a concert Muar, Johor. In the same year, La Voce Choir was also invited to perform in the Tarrega Guitar House annual concert and held a concert for Flexitones choir. By the end of the year, the choir was invited by Prince Hotel to sing and have fun with a group of orphans to celebrate Christmas together. In year 2012 May, La Voce Choir organized a choir camp and invited Ms. Fam Qing Rui, the conductor of Johor Bahru Chamber Choir to enlighten us and educate us more on the art of choral singing. The choir was also invited to perform in two other events, a fund raising dinner and also Chung Hwa High School’s anniversary dinner. In the other half of 2012 La Voce choir organized a large scale concert, The Mermaids’ Voices as a pre-competition warm up to expose the members and increase their stage experience which helped prepare them for an international competition in Korea. The Mermaids’ Voices concert was a very different event compared to the choir’s previous performances as they incorporated a special element known as black light which featured an adaptation of the Disney classic “Little Mermaid” in black light. A few short months after the concert, La Voce choir participated in the Busan Choral Festival and Competition, organized by the Korea Choral Institute, as the only representative of Malaysia. The competition in Korea brought about new experiences to every member, from watching world class choir perform as well as competing alongside them, La Voce’s members also had the chance to give back to the society by performing in a hospital for the sick and elderly. As a newly formed choir, La Voce is everything but inexperienced and is ready to take on the world and participate in more competitions, performances and exchange musical experiences with other choirs; not just in Malaysia but also internationally. 成立于2006年4月，由30余名雪隆区的青少年组成。此合唱团由林福祥老师和陈惠群老师担任指导兼指挥。多年来爱韵合唱团尝试不同的语言和曲风的歌曲如：民谣、现代音乐、爵士曲风等且不断的在每场演出中寻求突破并为观众再来惊喜。 2006年本团首次受邀参与KLPAC Sinfornietta并演出《Candlelight Christmas》。2007年5月，合唱团在KLPAC举办了第一场演唱会——《The Premier Voices》，并且主演《Cats》歌舞剧而大受好评。同年也受邀参与新马合唱交流会。合唱团也曾受邀担任2007年以及2008年吉隆坡歌乐节的演出嘉宾。2008年，爱韵合唱团录制了首张以圣诞节为主题的合唱专辑，并举办了一场圣诞节音乐晚宴《A Christmas Tale》。同年，爱韵合唱团受邀担任The 6th Young Singer Choral Festival的表演嘉宾；6月也受邀参与KL A Cappella Festival的演出，深获好评。 2009年本团首次与巴生泰雷嘉少儿合唱团及吉隆坡中华独中合唱团联合呈现《东声。西乐》－ 当 “陆在易遇见John Rutter” 的专题演唱会，并尝试综合东西方不同的文化及艺术，以让中西音乐擦出不一样的火花。2011年，爱韵合唱团举办了巡回演唱会——飞跃南马II《巴生河的回响》，更把我们的歌声带到南马一带。2012年，爱韵合唱团举办The Mermaids’ Voices《余音•幻妙》并以黑光剧呈献《小美人鱼》。这场结合了黑光、舞蹈及歌唱的演出毫无保留地流露出音乐所能带来的回忆与欢乐，这项演出也让本团为马来西亚合唱艺术平台创下新的记录。 除此之外，本团不断尝试以有趣及俏皮的演绎方式打破大众对传统合唱的刻板印象，以让大众对合唱有一番新见解而渐渐对合唱产生兴趣。成立至今，本团非常积极地参与国内外的大小型演出也连连获得好评。本团曾经于2010年参加与中国绍兴举办的第六届世界合唱大赛，并在赛中获得民谣组第四级金带奖，在四十支来自世界各地的队伍中位居第六。2012年，本团也非常荣幸代表马来西亚参与韩国釜山世界合唱比赛。这场比赛不但增广团员对合唱的了解更让世界听见马来西亚的合唱之声。今年，本团更有幸邀请到马来西亚花腔抒情女高音陈家仪老师担任本团的声乐指导。爱韵合唱团也将持续磨练自己，并把合唱之美继续带给所有观众，及再次把马来西亚的合唱带到世界舞台。
